ULST

ULST is a public higher education institution, nearly 80 years old, is located in Timișoara, in western Romania. It serves approximately 6,500 students annually and employs nearly 300 teaching and research staff. The university offers a comprehensive range of disciplines in the field of life sciences, from agronomy, horticulture, animal husbandry, engineering, environmental protection, circular economy, and sustainable tourism to the food industry.

The institution also hosts two doctoral schools, one focusing on the Engineering of Plant and Animal Resources and the other on Veterinary Medicine. As part of its internationalization strategy in recent years, it has consolidated a strong portfolio of high-importance projects and networks, with active involvement in programs such as Erasmus+, CBHE, MSCA, Horizon 2020, and numerous cross-border and research initiatives.

Developing highly trained, skilled research staff is a high institutional priority, with a focus on addressing regional challenges such as climate change adaptation, economic diversification, and advancing internationalization in education and research. The university aims to contribute significantly to sustainability in the life sciences, preparing expert specialists who are increasingly needed in the competitive global labor market, particularly within Eastern Europe and Romania.
